Lower Esk Valley Communities
The lower Esk Valley is from Egton and Egton Bridge downstream all the way to Whitby. Here the Esk Valley broadens out giving good views from the Esk Valley railway. At Grosmont the we meet the North York Moors Railway which heads South through Beck Hole, and Goathland and eventually terminates at Pickering. Steam trains run along this line and it is a popular tourist attraction not only for this but also the views to be had as you journey. As you head West from Grosmont you drive along Eskdaleside to the South and Aislabyside to the North. Soon you come to the large village of Sleights on the main road from Whitby to Pickering. South from Sleights is the valley of Littlebeck.
