Port Mulgrave lies close to the path of the Cleveland Way.
Port Mulgrave lies close to the path of the Cleveland Way and overlooks the scars (rock outcrops) of the shore, once a busy port that shipped ironstone, now little remains to be seen.
A National Trust site can be found below Lingrow Howe on Rosedale Cliffs.

The hamlet of Port Mulgrave was a thriving community in the late 1800's when locally mined ironstone was shipped from the specially constructed pier.
